Who We Are at Staten's Double Creek Ranch
Our Story
Our Journey started over a decade ago when two suburban nurses yearned to leave the crowds and bustle for rural life. After a few years on the far outskirts of Houston, we found fifty acres in a tiny community called North Zulch, in eastern Central Texas. While we didn't leave our day jobs, we had the goal of growing a substantial part of our food. In the process we started to share our harvest with our friends and neighbors.
Our Philosophy
At Staten's Double Creek Ranch, we are about healthy happy animals that are raised outside. We are about fresh air, clean water, green grass and space to roam. Our animals see more sunlight, eat more grass and enjoy their lives while we raise them. We like to say they only have one bad day, when they leave the pasture.
Our offerings
Currently we offer live pigs for pickup or local delivery. Additionally we have pasture-raised laying hens that provide our chicken eggs.
We have retail pork sales by the cut with Bone in Pork Chops, Bone in Pork Roasts, Ribs, Italian sausage and pan sausage. Coming soon we will have whole broilers. For the fall we will have holiday turkeys.
We currently do meat and egg sales at the Bedias Farmers Market on Saturdays and Joes Place Farmers Market on SH 21 in Bryan on Sundays.
